Kanangra Boyd National Park28 - 29 June 2003Trip NotesThese are some general photos from a weekend camping trip at Kanangra. Camping at the Boyd River camping ground, we went canyoning in Dione Dell on Saturday and then spent an easy Sunday morning around the camp before driving out to Morong Falls for an explore. I didn't get many photos of Dione Dell on this trip, but if you'd like to see some more, I did the same canyon trip the weekend before and took a few photos. Morong Falls (on Morong Creek) drop about 300 metres I think, down into the Kowmung River. The geology of these falls is interestingly very different to Dione Dell not far to the east. It's a beautiful and fun place to explore and the abundance of swimming holes will make it a great spot for a relaxing summers day I think. We finished the weekend with a late lunch at the Wattle Cafe in Blackheath. If you can go without a beer, the Wattle Cafe is a great post camping trip eating establishment! Usually a local Aussie/Irish guitarist/singer hangs out there on Sunday afternoons, but unfortunately for us he was leaving early just as we arrived... |
